A 3-point buzzer beater broke the hearts of several Drake fans in Des Moines Friday as the Bulldogs were ousted in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Down 16 in the second half, the Bulldogs were able to rally behind some dead-eye 3-point shooting from the usual suspects -- Bucky Cox, Klayton Korver and Josh Young -- and smart playmaking of Adam Emmenecker. But, in the end, a deep bomb by a unknown for Western Kentucky proved to be the dagger for Drake and its large fan base in attendance…

Well, today is the big day ... the start of March Madness. I would first like to thank all the readers who sent in their picks for our contest. The stack is really high so we appreciate that very much. And good luck to all of you.
It is one of my favorite times of the year. If work allows it, I'll be sitting in front of my TV set watching nearly every chance I can get. I enjoy watching "Cinderella" teams upset the favorites. Last-second shots are exciting too.
